FAQ

  • What should I wear?

We recommend wearing comfortable, breathable clothing that allows for a full range of motion. Fitted clothes can be helpful for instructor to see your body alignment. Please avoid shoes; most classes are conducted barefoot or with socks.

  • Do I need to have prior experience?

No prior experience is needed. Our Core Connect, Barre Strength, and Foundations Flow sessions are designed to accommodate all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Liz will guide you through each movement with personalized instruction, offering modifications to meet your unique needs. While all sessions incorporate a somatic approach, the Core 4: Somatic Unwinding series provides a foundational understanding of somatic movement patterns. Upon completing this series, you’ll be prepared for more dynamic offerings, such as the Movement Playground or Somatic Lyrical sessions, which introduce quicker tempos and more intricate movement patterns.

  • What should I bring?

Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated and a yoga mat if your session requires one. Some clients prefer to be barefoot, while others like to wear socks—choose whatever feels most comfortable for you. If you forget your mat, no problem—we have a few you can borrow! The studio also has a water fountain with hot and cold water, as well as complimentary tea for your enjoyment.

  • What is the parking like?

There is 2-hour unmetered street parking available on Broadway and unlimited in the surrounding neighborhood. Make sure to give yourself enough time to find a spot—it's Long Beach, after all! If you're nearby, consider biking, as there’s a bike lane on Broadway. Please note that street sweepers run on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, so be sure to check the signs if you're coming to session on those days.

  • What to expect?

Sessions begin with a brief introduction, followed by a drop-in practice, warm-up, and guided movements tailored to the focus of your session. Expect a blend of techniques aimed at cultivating strength, flexibility, and body awareness, all while staying connected with your breath. For more details, see specific session descriptions. As part of my trauma-informed approach, no hands-on assists will be provided unless explicit consent is given both verbally and physically.

  • What if I have specific concerns or limitations?

I encourage open communication! I typically ask about any concerns at the beginning of each session, but if you prefer to share privately or prior to the session, please do. This way, I can offer personalized modifications and support throughout the movement practice.

  • Is there a cancellation policy

Yes, we have a 6-hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel a class, please do so at least 6 hours in advance to avoid a $10 late cancellation fee. No-shows will be charged the full session fee. Of course, we understand that things happen beyond our control—please reach out if you'd like us to consider waiving the fee.

  • Can I drop-in to a session?

Absolutely! We welcome drop-in students. However, we recommend checking our schedule for session availability to ensure your instructor is available. Please note that registration must be completed at least 4 hours prior to joining a session.

  • How can I get involved?

Please visit our Pay It Forward page to help others connect with their bodies. A core part of my purpose is to remove privilege from movement spaces like these. If you’re able, consider paying it forward to support someone else’s journey. If you have a need, don’t hesitate to reach out.
