Working with Liz

  • I’ve had the pleasure of working with Liz in both a barre fitness class and on a personal dance project. After my first barre class with Liz, I felt muscles I didn’t know existed until then. Not only is Liz talented at teaching fitness and dance, but she incorporates techniques such as somatic movement that help to promote an overall well-being. I feel like my balance, posture and breathing have improved in addition to my core strength. I’ve always left her classes feeling energized and good about myself. She’s also fun and down to earth. I’m excited to continue learning and building on the healthy lifestyle I seek with the help of her guidance and instruction.

  • I never embraced any sort of structured exercise or movement my entire life.  I didn't know I needed it; I naively thought it was only for people trying to manage their weight or obsessed with their physical strength.  Liz changed my entire perspective on not just the benefits of movement, but the joy and mental health that it brings.  I love her ability to meet people where they are and to adapt her instruction on such a personal level.   She's helped me transform the way I think about exercise, movement, and wellness.  Now, I feel like my body and I understand each other, and I owe that to Liz.

  • Liz is such a gifted fitness and dance teacher! She has a thorough understanding of movement and body mechanics and has improved my form so much. Her class environment is always supportive and encouraging.

  • I have been taking Liz’s somatic classes for the last couple of months and it has been one of the most impactful movement practices I’ve experienced. In my life I have taken dance, yoga, Pilates, barre, strength training gyro and more and this has done something for me that none of those disciplines did.  It’s 45 minutes of that amazing feeling you get when you do that first subconscious morning stretch in bed. It’s like giving yourself a massage and foam rolling (without any pain). Somatic classes have helped me recover more quickly from soreness from other disciplines like barre (Liz’s barre classes are awesome too!)  It’s also really liberating to take a class that places all the focus on how my body FEELS and removes any attention from how my body LOOKS.  Liz is a wonderful instructor. She is warm and genuine. I never feel “watched” in class and yet she seems to always know what’s going on with me. I’m so glad that she opened this studio and that I have been introduced to these classes.
